ANCESS - THE FATE'S KEYS : ENGLISH/INGLESE
SUMMARY OF THE BOOK:
The Ancess saga is actually the latest myth whose vestiges the future poets will sing about.
Set in a parallel world called Gea, the story starts with the never-ending struggle among the gods of the sky. Part of them indeed follows an unknown obscure Entity which is trying to overwhelm the ideal balance of the pagan gods.
According to the will of an oracle, a group of chosen people living on the Earth is trained by the Gods and, provided with magic armours and powerful weapons hardened by Efesto himself, they leave for two epic missions in order to save Gea from those who flatter the evil.
The adventure makes them discover the intrigues of an old war and their real role inside it, finding day after day both their ancestral past and their destiny.
During their mission the two main characters, Soter and Keraynos, learn how to use their intuition and wisdom in order to become responsible in their decisions, to distinguish and accept what is real from what is deceiving, to be able to appreciate difficulties and to win not through the war, but through the immense power of virtues.
What makes this story an intense instructive book is the human values and the feelings which characterise it. Therefore when both violence takes place and when the epic-fantasy elements seem to move it away from our world, the humanity and the educational side emerging move it closer to our earthly everyday life.
To sum up, this extraordinary epic between History, fantasy, Bildungsroman and a good quantity of Oriental and ancient Greek wisdoms with all their teaching, opposes the superficial and sterile modern ways of writing. Through the creation of backgrounds which recall Mythology and proposing an authentic re-examination of the classical world, the author gives us an influential legend set in an epoch where a fantasy book (but not only it) dares being idealist and offers philosophy, education and ethics.
